Dixie x Heath Puppies 5 weeks old

The puppies have had a busy week. We have been working on weaning and they are playing with each other more. Weaning time is also when I introduce the whistle to them - they already come running when I whistle to them. The second video shows that. So here are the photos and videos, enjoy!

Nothing cuter IMHO than puppies 4-10 weeks old and those are great looking pups.

I am Lynn Dee Galey of Firelight Setters. I have had setters for 52 years, classic English Setters for about half of that. I believe that passions in life should bring you travel and good friendships that last your lifetime, and bird dogs have done exactly that for me. Although born in grouse country in northwest PA, I consider Vermont my home where my hunting meant partridge and woodcock. In 2013 I moved to Kansas which opened my eyes to the grand lifestyle of western hunting on the Kansas and Montana prairies, and I fell in love with the dog work on sharptail grouse and Huns as well as the bobwhite quail that called behind my house. But the cool summers and pine scented air of the north woods were once again calling me so in 2019 I moved to northern Michigan. As I have for 30 years I continue to live where I can walk out my door and put my dogs onto wild birds but hunting season now finds me dividing my time between the ruff woods and on the road to the prairie birds.
